Pi-Day
L’écriture du 14 Mars par les formats de date arabe ou américain est simplement 3/14, ce qui représente simplement les trois premiers chiffres de la constante d’Archimède π. Le 14 Mars est connu sous le nom “Pi-Day” dans nombreux pays et était auparavant considéré comme journée officieuse des mathématiques.
Le 14 mars a été déclaré officiellement journée internationale des mathématiques lors de la conférence générale de l’UNESCO en novembre 2019 ayant pour objectif la célébration de la beauté des mathématiques et son importance dans les sciences et dans la vie quotidienne.
“Les Mathématiques sont partout” est le slogan de la première journée internationale officielle des mathématiques qui se déroulera le 14 mars 2020.

IDM’20
A l’occasion de la journée internationale des Mathématiques (IDM’20), la faculté de Mathématiques de l’USTHB (en collaboration avec la SMA) oraganisera une manifestation dédiée à cette journée; elle comprendra des conférences, des compétition, récréations mathématiques … Les activités se dérouleront la matinée à la maison de la science et l’après-midi à la faculté de mathématiques de l’USTHB. The presentation will concern Maghrebian Mathematics in the medieval period (in the time of Leonardo Fibonacci, Ibn al-Banna, Raymond Lull, Ibn Khaldun, Piri Reis,…): intellectual centers, institutions, scientific tradition, cities – relations, process of transmission, …) and their relations with the Christian West. It is the same in the nineteenth century: knowledge available among local scholars (Ash Shellati, Lmuhub Ulahbib, …) and activities in the Maghreb of Western mathematicians (François Arago, Eugene Dewulf, Albert Ribaucour, …).
Conférence 3: Mathematics as a universal language to decipher the origin of the solar system,

Résumé 3:
Mathematics is the most effective language that binds us to nature. It is more than a simple experimental and/or observational validation tool. I will talk about this relationship and its advantages in astrophysics, in the solar system by giving a brief overview of the state of the art in the field. Using an example, I will demonstrate how astronomical observations, laboratory experiments, in situ measurements, and scientific calculations integrate and overlap around a scientific problem. This conference focuses on how we put the pieces of the puzzle together with my mathematician colleagues from the USTHB in order to answer astrophysical questions. Finally, I will emphasize the central role of mathematics in the multidisciplinary approach.
